Star Trek Into Darkness Movie Database
Storyline 24/30
The storyline is divided into the introduction, the build up, and the climax. The introduction is worth 8 marks. The problem is that, these events which happen then are not really part of the storyline, and are just meant to be a side- story. However, the action-packed introduction, which deserves to be an ending, kick starts the show, and gets viewers, like me, off to a good perception of the show.
The build up really still has a lot of action packed sequences, like on Kronos, where the Klingons, the planet’s inhabitants, start attacking both Khan and the members of the USS Enterprise. The show tries to be funny at parts, and it really deserves 7 marks.
The conclusion was, to put it, very impressive indeed. From the scene where a warship crashes to the Earth, to the intense fight in space, it really is interesting, considering the twist the viewer was treated to. Really a impressive ending to the show indeed (with a happy ending, of course). This is worth 9 marks.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
17/20

This show really expresses the character’s stand and position well, and actually provides first time viewers a better understanding of the crew of the USS Enterprise. All the crew members have a chance to show what they are like Dr. Carol Marcus, who was well understood in the show.
COSTUME DESIGN/ BACKGROUND/PRODUCTION DESIGN/MAKEUP/ SPECIAL EFFECTS- 8/10
Nothing much to say here, other than the fact that the CGI was indeed mind-blowing. However, the costume design suffers slightly.
DIRECTION- 9/10
J.J. Abrams really did a good job, letting me have an impressive movie experience. The story built up drastically, making the viewers unaware of what was going to happen next.
MUSIC- 7/10
Nothing much to say here either
ACTING- 9/10
The actors are able to express their emotions and feelings well, and are able to express the right tone at the right time. Kudos to the actors!
LAGS IN STORYLINE ETC.-9/10

Look forward to my upcoming reviews of Lincoln, Cloud Atlas, Fast and Furious 6 and Gangster Squad here!

  1. What a great and detailed review!! I saw the first (new) Star Trek a few years ago, and thought it was visually stunning! I also think Benedict Cumberbatch is equally stunning, so I cannot wait to see this one!!
